First run Excel, What is Excel?

Excel is a network of fast interurban routes linking towns and cities across East Anglia. Frequencies offered are hourly or better during the daytime, with most journeys using modern coaches for extra comfort.

Excellent Routes

X1 Lowestoft – Great Yarmouth – Norwich – Dereham – Swaffham – King’s Lynn – Wisbech – Peterborough.

Every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday daytimes with hourly evening and Sunday services between Great Yarmouth and Peterborough.

X2 Lowestoft – Beccles – Norwich

Every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday daytimes combines with X1 in Lowestoft to provide a 15 minute service between there and Norwich. Tickets fully inter-available.

X3 Norwich – Wymondham – Attleborough – Watton

Every hour Monday to Saturday daytimes.

X4 Norwich – Wymondham – Attleborough – Thetford – Bury St Edmunds

Every hour Monday to Saturday daytimes offers a combined 30 minutes frequency with X3 between Norwich and Attleborough.

X5 Norwich – Aylsham – Cromer – Sheringham

Every hour, Monday to Saturday daytimes linking the City to the North Norfolk Coast.

Excellent Travel Bargains

Weekly tickets valid for seven consecutive days unlimited travel are available from the driver.

Excellent Connections

Excel Plus Ticket : Buy it on the first Excel coach boarded, and for an additional £1 enjoy unlimited travel on the town network of Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, King’s Lynn or Bury St Edmunds for that day. Unlimited travel in Norwich zones 1 – 5 is £2.

Your Excel ticket can be used on service 25 between Norwich City Centre and Norwich Rail Station at no additional charge for rail connections.

Travelling to Lowestoft? On evenings and Sundays your Excel ticket is valid between Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft on service 1/1A for connections from X1.

X1 runs direct to and from Peterborough Rail Station forecourt, where you can connect for services to Leicester, Birmingham, Leeds, York, Newcastle and Scotland. Rail tickets are valid on Excel between Peterborough and Dereham on payment of the appropriate fare. Your passport to a great day out is the FEC Network Ticket which gives unlimited travel on First buses including Excel for one day throughout the Eastern Counties

Priced at only £9 adults, £4.50 for senior citizens (on production of a valid Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex or Cambridgeshire concessionary pass), £6 for children and £20 for a family of up to 2 adults and 2 children or 1 adult and 3 children, buy it on the first bus you board.
