One of the undisputed highlights of Lowestoft’s calendar, the Dragon Boat Festival is about to celebrate its tenth year with another fun-packed day, this time in support of the East Coast Hospice charity.
The Dragon Boat Race at Oulton Broad in Lowestoft has grown in popularity every year to become one of the highlights of the summer season. Dozens of teams representing local families and businesses battle it out in traditional dragon boats, creating an unforgettable spectacle while raising money for some great causes.
The 10th East Anglian Charity Dragon Boat Festival is open to everyone, so if you’d like to compete with over 40 other crews over the 200m race course, watched by several thousand spectators, make sure you visit the Dragon Boat Festival site and register. This year the festival is raising money for the East Coast Hospice charity, which helps the region’s elderly through the difficulties of late life. Whether you’re racing or you’d just like to watch and enjoy the festival atmosphere, you’re helping to support a truly great cause.
